Dr. Cathy Taylor

Dr. Taylor was born and raised in sunny Sarasota, Florida just a couple hours south of Gainesville. She graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Nutritional Science and was a Gator cheerleader during her undergraduate studies, along with her twin sister, Becky! She continued her education at UF’s College of Dentistry. While in dental school, Dr. Taylor was a member of the American Student Dental Association, Dental Ambassadors, Project H.E.A.L, an interdisciplinary trip to Quito, Ecuador to provide dental care, and was president of the Christian Dental Society.

Following dental school, Dr. Taylor chose to further her education by participating in an Advanced Education in General Dentistry program based in Apopka, Florida. It was during this program that Dr. Taylor decided she wanted to make Gainesville her permanent home. She is a member of the Alachua County Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Dental Association.

Dr. Taylor and her husband, Andrew, met while students at UF and married shortly after graduation. Andrew works as a CPA for Davis, Monk, and Company. They have been married for six years. Andrew is working on convincing Dr. Taylor to get a dog, but the jury is still out!

Garilee Bussey

Garilee is the essence of JOY! She is a compassionate and beautiful person who loves her work as a dental hygienist. Garilee graduated from Sante Fe’s Dental Hygiene Program and is an outstanding asset to our Dental Arts team! She is engaged to her fiancé, Joey, who is a nurse. She has two cats and loves CJ’s chicken wings!

Penny Preston

Penny is an amazing and exceptional dental assistant. She is passionate about the work she does and loves her patients! Penny has over 20 years of dental assisting experience and is a most valuable team member of our Dental Arts team! Penny is married to her wonderful husband, Rick, and has two sons, Eric and Michael. When not at work, you can find Penny and her husband at their favorite restaurant, Denenos!

Connie Igus

Connie is our Dental Arts front office manager! She keeps us all in ship shape. Connie is full of life and fun! You can always find her looking trendy when she greets you upon your arrival to the dental office. She is originally from Germany and now makes Gainesville her home. She has two daughters, Lilanti and Alana.

Julie Abramaitys

Like Connie, Julie is also from Germany! Before joining Dental Arts, Julie worked as an RN and then in a medical radiology office. She now assists in the front office and is often the cheerful voice you hear on the other end of the telephone. In 2003, she married her husband, Michael, and now has a beautiful little girl, Jenna.
